Microsoft Word 

If you create business documents like letters, brochures, or newsletters, you know that their quality is representative of your organization.
And to create professional-quality documents efficiently and effectively, you have to use advanced word processing functions. This online course will teach you how to use Microsoft Word 2019, the newest version of Microsoft Office/Office 365’s widely-used word processing software. Through hands-on lessons and modules, you will learn how to use a number of shortcuts and time-saving techniques to create complex documents. By the end of the intermediate course, you will know how to create and organize tables, manipulate graphics, and merge spreadsheets, amongst other functions, to turn Word into a simple desktop publishing tool.

Microsoft Excel 

After an introduction to spreadsheet terminology and Excel’s window components, participants will learn how to create worksheets; insert functions; reuse formulas and functions; insert, delete and adjust cells, columns and rows, and search for and replace data. During the intermediate class, learn how to enter and edit text, values, formulas, and pictures, and save workbooks in various formats. Participants will also move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references, and work with ranges, rows, and columns. This course also covers simple functions, basic formatting techniques, and printing. Finally, participants will learn how to manage large workbooks.

Microsoft PowerPoint: Graphics, Animation, and Sound

Make your presentations memorable! This course will show students how to add graphics, animation, and sound to PowerPoint presentations. Topics include how to add pictures, screenshots, and shapes to a presentation; remove backgrounds and apply artistic effects to slide images; add transition effects to a slide show; add animation to objects on a slide, and add sound effects to transitions and animations.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Participants will need a LAPTOP. 

Hardware Requirements: This course must be taken on a PC. It is not suitable for Mac users.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 10 or later operating systems.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge is also compatible.
