Become A Partner Agency

Official Inquiry

Thank you for your interest in becoming a United Way of Smith County Partner Agency. We are proud of the services and programs our agencies provide to the community with the assistance of United Way community-raised funds.

This page links you to the initial inquiry application for new agencies; this inquiry is available year-round but must be completed before October 15 to access the complete application made available the same month.

Please include the program that you would be applying for. The United Way does not provide general fund funding or funding for capital campaigns.

Process

The United Way of Smith County will accept new partner agency applications from agencies that have submitted the inquiry application beginning in October with the board of directors’ approval.  Complete applications will be due December 15. The volunteer allocations committee will review applications and invite agencies that meet the requirements to present their agency and proposed program(s) in January. The allocations committee recommends agencies to be accepted, and the United Way Board of Directors will vote in February or March on the recommendations. New agencies will be notified by the end of the month of acceptance. New agencies will not be able to receive allocation funding until the following year but will be eligible to participate in Tyler Gives the year of acceptance.

Requirements

To be considered for an application, your agency must be a 501(c)3 organization, have an active board of directors, and be able to provide a CPA review of finances (see link below for more information). Your agency and program must seek to improve an impact area: Education, Health and Wellness, Financial Stability, or Crisis Intervention. Additional requirements are listed in the checklist of the inquiry application. The inquiry application does not require document presentation, but the complete application in October will.
